-
- CACHE_ED is Freeware and can be free copied.
-

-
- 2 Installing CACHE_ED
- **********************
-
- It is really simple!
-
- Jut copy CACHE_ED.PRG and CACHE_ED.RSC to the path where CAB.APP is located.
- It *must* be placed in the same folder because CAB searches for CACHE_ED.PRG in
- it.
-
- When CAB is able to find CACHE_ED the Menuentry "Cache-Tool..." in CAB is
- useable. Clicking on this Menuentry starts CACHE_ED.
-
- NOTE:
-
- ∙ There is no chance to start CACHE_ED from your Desktop. It *must* be
- started by CAB.
-
- ∙ Owner of the new Cab-Release (1.4 as of 5.8.96 (actually beta)) can copy
- CACHE_ED in the MODULES-Folder instead of the Cab-Dir. That works too.
-
-
-
- 3 Using CACHE_ED
- *****************
-
- I gave my best to wrote a intuitiv useable program.
-
- But there are some features which are not easy to find. And so i now write
- this little documentation to help you, my user...
-
- After starting CACHE_ED via CAB the file CACHE.CAB (in your CACHE- Folder)
- would be read. Aeh, first CACHE_ED searches all listed HOSTS in CACHE.CAB
- (e.g. "www.mediadrom.no", "www.shareware.com") and then all URLs from withing
- this Host are read.
-
- www.shareware.com/*.*
-
- (you know what i mean with /*.*, right? ;-))
-
- After scanning the CACHE.CAB succesfully CACHE_ED opens a dialogue.
-
- *Listbox HOST* Here you can select a host from the list of all hosts listed in
- CACHE.CAB. After selecting a host CACHE_ED loads all URLs from this host
- and put them in a second list. See 'Listbox URL'.
-
- *Listbox URL* Here you can select a special URL from a list of all URLs from
- the selected host.
-
- *URL* Here the complete URL you selected (Listbox HOST + Listbox URL) is shown.
-
- *Filename* The Name of the File on your HD which is used by the selected URL
- from the selected Host.
-
- *Lenght* The Lenght of the File your CACHE-Folder (Filename).
-
- *File-Date* The Date of the File on your Harddisk. The Date when the file is
- last opened to write (after editing for example).
-
- *File-Time* The Time of the File on your Hardisk. The Time when the File is
- last opened to write (after editing for example).
-
- *URL-Date* The Date when you got this URL from Internet. The Date when the file
- is closed.
-
- *URL-Time* The Time when you got this URL from Internet. The Time when the File
- is closed.
-
- *View URL* This Button is only useable under Multitasking and CAB must run as
- an Parallel Application. If Useable; a Mouseclick on this Button sends a
- Special AES-Message to Cab which says that CAB should VIEW this URL. If
- it is an HTML-File CAB loads this Page like any other HTML-Pages.
-
- *Remove URL* The selected URL would be removed (from CACHE.CAB and HD) after a
- last warning.
-
- *Remove HOST* All URLs from the selected HOST would be removed (from CACHE.CAB
- and HD) after a last warning.
-
- *Copy File* After using this Button another dialogue appears. Copy URL.
-
- *Quit* Quits CACHE_ED.
-
-
-
- 4 Copy URL
- ***********
-
- Here you can find two Listboxes. The first one is for define the destination
- path to copy the file(s) too. It is "predefined" with; 'Fileselector' as first
- entry. All other entrys are the folder which you can define in CAB as HTML-
- Folders. They are given to CACHE_ED from CAB.
-
- The second Listbox hold all URLs from the selected Host. Here you can mark all
- those URLs which you want to copy. For default; all URLs are marked.
-
- If you want to deselect ALL URLs you have to click on the -Sign on the upper
- right side of the listbox. Single-Click on it selects all URLs, Shift-Click
- deselects all URLs.
-
- If you just want to de-/select one URL just click on the entry you want to
- de-/select.
-
-
-
- 5 Selecting a host
- *******************
-
- While selecting a host (and also in selecting a URL) you have an autolocator
- to select the right host while typing the name of it.
-
-
-
- 6 ToDo
- *******
-
- ∙ The Copy-Function is'nt the best at the moment. When you want to copy
- more than one file and these begin all with the same "long" filename
- (face_value_test.001, face_value_test.002, face_value_test.003) then you
- only get on file at the end (face_val.ue_)... I must think about that to
- find a better solution.
