  45. 2  Installing CACHE_ED

  48. It is really simple!
  49.  
  50. Jut copy CACHE_ED.PRG and CACHE_ED.RSC to the path where CAB.APP is located.
  51. It *must* be placed in the same folder because CAB searches for CACHE_ED.PRG in
  52. it.
  53.  
  54. When CAB is able to find CACHE_ED the Menuentry "Cache-Tool..." in CAB is
  55. useable. Clicking on this Menuentry starts CACHE_ED.

  57. NOTE:
  58.  
  59.    ∙ There is no chance to start CACHE_ED from your Desktop. It *must* be
  60.      started by CAB.
  61.  
  62.    ∙ Owner of the new Cab-Release (1.4 as of 5.8.96 (actually beta)) can copy
  63.      CACHE_ED in the MODULES-Folder instead of the Cab-Dir. That works too.

  67. 3  Using CACHE_ED

  70. I gave my best to wrote a intuitiv useable program.
  71.  
  72. But there are some features which are not easy to find. And so i now write
  73. this little documentation to help you, my user...
  74.  
  75. After starting CACHE_ED via CAB the file CACHE.CAB (in your CACHE- Folder)
  76. would be read. Aeh, first CACHE_ED searches all listed HOSTS in CACHE.CAB
  77. (e.g. "www.mediadrom.no", "www.shareware.com") and then all URLs from withing
  78. this Host are read.

  84. After scanning the CACHE.CAB succesfully CACHE_ED opens a dialogue.

  86.  *Listbox HOST* Here you can select a host from the list of all hosts listed in
  87.      CACHE.CAB. After selecting a host CACHE_ED loads all URLs from this host
  88.      and put them in a second list. See 'Listbox URL'.

  90.  *Listbox URL* Here you can select a special URL from a list of all URLs from
  91.      the selected host.

  93.  *URL* Here the complete URL you selected (Listbox HOST + Listbox URL) is shown.

  95.  *Filename* The Name of the File on your HD which is used by the selected URL
  96.      from the selected Host.

  98.  *Lenght* The Lenght of the File your CACHE-Folder (Filename).

  100.  *File-Date* The Date of the File on your Harddisk. The Date when the file is
  101.      last opened to write (after editing for example).

  103.  *File-Time* The Time of the File on your Hardisk. The Time when the File is
  104.      last opened to write (after editing for example).

  106.  *URL-Date* The Date when you got this URL from Internet. The Date when the file
  107.      is closed.

  109.  *URL-Time* The Time when you got this URL from Internet. The Time when the File
  110.      is closed.

  112.  *View URL* This Button is only useable under Multitasking and CAB must run as
  113.      an Parallel Application. If Useable; a Mouseclick on this Button sends a
  114.      Special AES-Message to Cab which says that CAB should VIEW this URL. If
  115.      it is an HTML-File CAB loads this Page like any other HTML-Pages.

  117.  *Remove URL* The selected URL would be removed (from CACHE.CAB and HD) after a
  118.      last warning.
  119.  
  120.  *Remove HOST* All URLs from the selected HOST would be removed (from CACHE.CAB
  121.      and HD) after a last warning.

  123.  *Copy File* After using this Button another dialogue appears. Copy URL.

  132. Here you can find two Listboxes. The first one is for define the destination
  133. path to copy the file(s) too. It is "predefined" with; 'Fileselector' as first
  134. entry. All other entrys are the folder which you can define in CAB as HTML-
  135. Folders. They are given to CACHE_ED from CAB.
  136.  
  137. The second Listbox hold all URLs from the selected Host. Here you can mark all
  138. those URLs which you want to copy. For default; all URLs are marked.
  139.  
  140. If you want to deselect ALL URLs you have to click on the -Sign on the upper
  141. right side of the listbox. Single-Click on it selects all URLs, Shift-Click
  142. deselects all URLs.

  144. If you just want to de-/select one URL just click on the entry you want to
  145. de-/select.

  152. While selecting a host (and also in selecting a URL) you have an autolocator
  153. to select the right host while typing the name of it.

  160.    ∙ The Copy-Function is'nt the best at the moment. When you want to copy
  161.      more than one file and these begin all with the same "long" filename
  162.      (face_value_test.001, face_value_test.002, face_value_test.003) then you
  163.      only get on file at the end (face_val.ue_)... I must think about that to
  164.      find a better solution.

  222.      can deselect the URLs you don't want to to copy.

  225.      ausgewertet und SOFORT bearbeitet. CACHE.CAB neulesen usw... Du solltest
  226.      also mit CAB_CCHANGED vorsichtig sein und nicht zu viele schicken ;-))

  229.      notiert. In der nächsten Ausgabe der Liste sind unsere MSGs dann auch
